Bryan Murray

Bryan Murray is a Project Scientist at the UC Irvine School of Education specializing in Human Development in Context (HDiC).

Murray's work focuses on the syntax, gradient nature of language variants, learning, the schooling factor, and policy. His current research involving preschoolers and school-aged children focuses on understanding dialect use in African American Children with a specific emphasis on the impact of dialect on language assessment, literacy attainment, and academic performance. His work with children in foster care focuses on understanding the impact of educational instability on language development and academic achievement.

Bryan received his B.A. in Psychology and M.S. in Educational Psychology at Georgia State University. He also received his M.A. and Ph.D. in Education and Human Development at UC Irvine.
